WHEN IS THE BOOKSHOP OPEN?
The Churches' Bookshop is open Monday-Saturday, 10AM-4PM, except Bank Holidays, Christmas, and TT Race Week.
WHERE IS THE BOOKSHOP?
The Churches' Bookshop is located in the basement of St Thomas' Church on Finch Road. To find it, stand on the pavement before the main entry at the top of the church, facing the church. Turn right and follow the pavement to the gate directly next to the church. Go through this gate, into the alley, and you should be able to see the bookshop's standing sign and flower pot on the left hand side towards the end of the alley.
WHEN CAN I ORDER CANDLES, WAFERS, AND OTHER CHURCHWARE FOR MY CHURCH?
Until the end of 2025, orders can be placed as normal.
From January 2026, we are implementing a quarterly ordering system to help reduce shop expenses. Our quarterly Charles Farris order dates are listed on our Store Policy page. Q1 will usually be in the end of January or start of February and includes Lent and Easter orders; Q2 will usually be in the end of April or start of May; Q3 will usually be in the end of July or start of August; and Q4 will usually be in the end of October or start of November and includes Advent and Christmas orders.
You can place orders at other times of the year, but please be aware that orders outside of the quarterly order dates may come with additional fees.
WHY ARE THERE SET ORDER DATES FOR CHARLES FARRIS ORDERS?
The Churches' Bookshop works with many suppliers, and most of these have a minimum value per order. Anything below the minimum value will either be held or incur additional fees. Charles Farris has a particularly high minimum value. The Churches' Bookshop is not in a position to cover multiple extraneous fees throughout the year, so the decision has been made to collect Charles Farris orders and place them at even intervals throughout the year. This is something the bookshop has already been doing for holidays such as Lent, Easter, Advent, and Christmas.
